3 How we collect information

We collect information directly from you when you contact us, open an account, place an order or ask for support. We also receive information from the services used to operate and fulfil the shop, including Squarespace, Squarespace Payments and the delivery company used for your order. Necessary technical information is generated when you use our websites.

4 How and why we use information

Responding to enquiries

We use your contact details and correspondence to answer questions and provide product information. We do this because it is in our legitimate interests to communicate with customers and potential customers, or because you have asked us to take steps before entering a contract.

Customer accounts

We use identity, contact and account information to create and administer customer accounts. This is necessary to provide the account service and support purchases made through the account.

Orders and delivery

We use identity, contact, order and transaction information to accept, fulfil, deliver and manage orders. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.

Payments and fraud prevention

We use transaction, contact and technical information to take payment, confirm transactions and help prevent fraud. This is necessary to perform the contract and is also in our legitimate interests in protecting the shop and its customers.

Returns, refunds and complaints

We use order, contact and correspondence information to manage returns, refunds, complaints and product issues. This may be necessary to perform the contract, comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.

Legal and financial records

We retain relevant order, invoice, payment and refund records to meet tax, accounting and company-law obligations.

Security and website operation

We use technical, security and cookie information to maintain secure and reliable websites. Necessary processing is based on our legitimate interests. Any non-essential cookies will be used only with consent.

Legal claims

We may use relevant account, order and correspondence information where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims or comply with law.

5 Payments

Payments on wipeswipeswipes.com are processed through Squarespace Payments. Squarespace Payments uses payment and fraud-prevention providers, including Stripe and Sift. Those providers process payment and fraud information under their own privacy terms. We receive the information needed to confirm and administer the transaction, but not your full card details.

6 Who we share information with

We share personal information only where needed to operate the websites, fulfil orders, comply with law or protect our rights. Recipients may include:

  • Squarespace, which hosts the websites, online shop and customer-account functions.

  • Squarespace Payments and its payment and fraud-prevention providers.

  • DPD, Royal Mail or another delivery provider identified for your order.

  • Professional advisers, accountants, IT support providers and insurers where reasonably necessary.

  • Public authorities, regulators, courts or law-enforcement bodies where disclosure is required or permitted by law.

We do not sell personal information. We do not currently use personal information for third-party advertising, behavioural profiling or automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

7 International transfers

Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data protection law requires safeguards for a transfer, we rely on an applicable adequacy regulation, approved contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism. You may contact us for more information about safeguards relevant to your information.

8 How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose collected, including legal, accounting and dispute requirements.

Orders and transactions

We normally retain orders, invoices, payment information, delivery records, returns and refunds for six years from the end of the financial year to which the record relates.

Customer accounts

We retain an account while it remains active. We normally delete or anonymise an inactive account after 24 months, while retaining transaction records where legally required.

General enquiries

Where an enquiry does not lead to a transaction, we normally retain the correspondence for two years after the last substantive communication.

Trade relationships

We normally retain trade-customer and supplier relationship records for six years after the relationship or relevant transaction ends.

Complaints and disputes

We normally retain complaint and dispute records for six years after resolution, or longer where a claim or legal requirement makes this necessary.

Privacy requests

We normally retain records of privacy-rights requests for three years after completion.

Abandoned checkouts

If abandoned-checkout information is collected, we normally retain it for 30 days unless the checkout becomes an order.

Cookie preferences

We retain evidence of cookie choices for as long as reasonably needed to demonstrate and respect the choice. We refresh the choice where our cookie use materially changes.

9 Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. Our websites use Squarespace security features and encrypted connections. Online payments are handled by payment providers operating to applicable payment-card security standards. No internet service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10 Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict your personal information; object to certain uses; receive information in a portable form; and withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis.

To exercise a right, email info@assisthygiene.com. We may need information to confirm your identity and will respond within the period required by law.
